Hewell win revenge match after being beaten at the start of the season
Winning the toss and electing to bat Hewell had lost both openers by the third over for eighteen runs. However, M. Hill (35), one six and four fours and C. Harvey (22) three fours, took the score to 82 in the twenty-first over. Two further cheap wickets brought in big hitter P. Andrews (49 no) one six and seven fours, who with J. Ravenscroft (14 no) and M. Jones (21) four fours, took the total to 179 for 7 wickets in their 40 over's.
Steve Robins (4-26), Andy Newcome (1-8 in 8 over's), Will Smith (1-35) and Eric Hall (1-43) the bowlers for Kempsey.
In reply Kempsey lost wickets with monotonous regularity despite the efforts of David Robinson (52) including nine fours and Steve Robins (46) with four fours. Will Smith (12) and Eric Hall (10) the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Kempsey all out for 156 in the thirty-ninth over.
