Match Report Hewell v Kempsey 40 over friendly Sunday 4th May

Loosing the toss and asked to bat on a wettish wicket under bright sun, Kempsey made a poor start being 56 for 4 wickets after 15 overs. Only Paul Evans 13 and Eric Hall 14 reaching double figures until Steve Robins turned the tide with a superb Captain's innings eventually running out of partners to finish on 96 no, including seven sixes and seven fours. In reply, Hewell too, found the going hard being 57-5 after 15 overs. B Gill 31 with seven fours, Ravenscroft 14, M. Johns 12 and A. Gailey 12, making double figures. Tight fielding and all catches held together with fine bowling from Will Perry with his maiden 5 wicket hall for only 27 runs from 6 overs and Andy Newcombe 22-2 from 5 overs meant that Hewell were all out for 98 in the 22nd Over. Kempsey Winning by 50 runs.
