Match Report  for
Kempsey v Tenbury 40 over friendly Sunday 27th July 2003

Winning the toss, Kempsey elected to bat in this friendly, on a dry wicket that had been covered during all the heavy rain. Kempsey made slow progress with wickets falling at regular intervals with a very slow outfield. Top scorers were Will Perry with 19 and Dan Smith-Keitley with 14 (including the only 6 of the day). Kempsey finishing up with only 105 for 8 wickets off their 40 over's. Rob Yeoman (2-27 off 10 over's), Ollie Tyler (1-3 off 5 over's), Brian Eckley (1-12 off 5 over's) were the best of Tenbury bowlers.

Thinking that this was an easy target, Tenbury started well with Ollie Tyler (25) and Brian Thompson (13). Kempsey fielders and wicket keeper dropping easy catches and Tenbury were 53 for 3 and then 72 for 4 and plenty of over's remaining. After a drinks interval, things changed significantly with the bowling and fielding becoming very tight and Tenbury only allowed to make 82 all out in the 34th over. Kempsey bowlers, Andy Newcombe (1-14 off 8 over's), Will Perry (1-23 off 10 over's), Steve Robins (4-20 off 9 over's) and Eric Hall (3-17 off 7 over's) doing the damage, and leaving Kempsey winning their third successive match, this time by 23 runs.
