Kempsey CC vs Wyre Piddle

Wyre Piddle won the toss and elected to bat. Wyre Piddle were kept at bay with tight Kempsey Bowling for the first 10 overs apart from Wilson who scored 31. With Taylor (63) and Oakley (61) at the wicket, runs were easy to get and a partnership of over a hundred put the Piddles back on top. Following Taylor's run out by a good throw by Jack Murphy it was again hard to get runs with Wyre Piddle finishing on 204 all out. The best of Kempsey bowling was youngster Mark Tucker 7.4 overs, 36 runs 4 wickets with the wicket keeper and Captain David Robinson bowling 4 overs for 17 runs and taking 2 wickets.
Kempsey offered little resistance to a competitive attacking field from Wyre Piddle and only Chris Genever (15) run out to his call and ambling down the track who was run out to a superb direct hit from behind square leg, manage to get to double figures early in the innings. A late surge from the youngsters Jack Murphy (27 not out) and Mark Tucker (18) left Kempsey at 96 all out with Teece (9-1-18-2) and Moore (8-1-30-5) the best of the Piddlers bowlers. Wyre Piddle won by 108 runs.
